Yoshimi Valentine graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, then graduated from Columbia University with a master's degree in Japanese pedagogy. Her research focuses on second language acquisition, including topics such as feedback and recasting. She has teaching experience in University level courses in theoretical and applied linguistics, Japanese language, Japanese pedagogy, and Japanese calligraphy.
